thedaintydaisiesProducts I’ve Used Up: July 2013

It seems like I’m going through products left and right lately. So I guess it’s time for another addition of “Products I’ve Used Up.” This blog post will consist of a mini review of each of my empties and a statement of whether I will be repurchasing the product or not. Let’s get started!

Maybelline’s The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara ($6.99)(Drugstores/Ulta)

This is the first of two mascaras that I’ve used up recently. I got this one for Valentine’s Day from my mom. It’s not one that I would have picked up myself, but it looked interesting. The wand is so different than your typical mascara wand. It took some getting used to for sure. While I used up the container of mascara, it wasn’t my favorite. I won’t be repurchasing this one. I feel like it was too dry and didn’t anything spectacular. That being said, if I was offered many containers of this mascara for free I would use them. So it’s not necessarily a bad mascara, I just think there are better mascaras out there.

L’oreal’s Voluminous Naturale Mascara ($7.99)(Drugstores/Ulta)

I love L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara ($6)(Drugstores). This is just the naturale version, so I assumed I would like it as much. But before I continue, can I just ask what a naturale mascara is supposed to look like when applied? Natural to me means without any makeup. So it seems a little contradictory. Anyway, this mascara was a total miss. The wand is so thin it doesn’t add much product to my lashes. Maybe I’m just comparing it to its original version, but this mascara isn’t anywhere near impressive. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and won’t be repurchasing it.

Benefit Bella Bamba Blush ($28)(Ulta/Sephora)

I’ve finally hit pan on my favorite blush! It’s beautiful watermelon pink with shimmer. Benefit definitely has some of the best blushes I’ve seen. I would love to try out some others! Hitting pan on this blush gave me some mixed feelings. At first I was impressed that I’ve used that much. Then I was sad because that means I’m closer to having to buy it again. And it does not come cheap. So yes I will be repurchasing this blush, once I finally finish every last ounce!

Lush’s American Cream Hair Conditioner ($10)(Lush)

thedaintydaisies

Lush’s American Cream is my first ever conditioner purchase from Lush. I put off trying a Lush conditioner for so long because of the price. The smallest container is $10! And I know it’s a better value to get the bigger containers, but I wasn’t sure if I would like the product.

I used this conditioner every time I washed my hair and was thoroughly impressed. I felt like my hair was getting healthier the more I used it. Did I mention it smells like a milkshake? Well it smells like a milkshake. It was a sad, sad day when I finally finished this stuff. I love the product, but not the price. A typical dilemma I have with beauty products. I have yet to repurchase this conditioner. I want to and I will. Just not now. I will be finishing up the other conditioners I have, before going out and buying more. But I assure you, this will be the next conditioner I buy!

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner ($6)(Ulta)

I’m not sure if you can tell, but this is the travel size version. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this product, so I bought the smaller version in order to try it out without wasting my money. But I fell it love with it! I used up this container and have already bought the full size. I’m going to keep this little container so I can refill it and use it for travel. I think this detangler is really impressive. And it’s a leave in conditioner that doesn’t make my hair greasy! That’s a win-win in my book. This product has actually been around this blog a bit. It was in this tutorial and in this post.

Essie’s Splash of Grenadine ($8)(Drugstores/Ulta/Target)

thedaintydaisies

To be honest, I didn’t actually “use up” this product. Is it even possible to finish a bottle of nail polish before it goes bad? Actually, this polish may look familiar. I did my first blog post about how much I loved it. If you are interested, the post can be found here.

Anyway, this polish has seen better days. I’ve gotten my use out of it, and now it’s just too gunky to use. I was debating on whether or not to repurchase it. I mean it is my favorite nail polish color ever, but I have so much other nail polish that I think I should use up first. So as of now I’ll be taking a break from Essie’s Splash of Grenadine.

Bath and Body Works Lotion ($11)(Bath and Body Works)

In my March “Products I’ve Used Up” post I had finished a Bath and Body Works Lotion. This time I finished two! I still have the same feelings towards the consistency and moisturizing ability that I did in that other post. The only difference this time is the scents.

Japanese Cherry Blossom

You know how certain smells can remind you of memories. This lotion reminds me of the eighth grade. That was when a friend of mine got me this lotion and I wore it all the time. I was obsessed with the scent. However once I ran out, I didn’t buy another bottle. Then back when I stocked up on my Bath and Body Works lotions, I picked this one up. I think if you are going to get products from Bath and Body Works for a friend, Japanese Cherry Blossom is the scent to go with. I think a lot of different people would enjoy it. To me it smells clean, and feminine. Not like laundry. Though I still like this scent, I think I need a break from it. I also need to finish the rest of the Bath and Body Works lotions I have in stock. I still have FOUR bottles left to use up.

Coconut Lime Breeze

This scent is very tropical. If you don’t like the smell of coconut or citrus, keep on scrolling. I love it and it’s probably my favorite scent that Bath and Body Works carries. It’s so summery and refreshing. However, I can definitely understand becoming sick of the scent if I were to buy it again. Just like Japanese Cherry Blossom, I won’t be repurchasing this lotion at the moment. Later, yes.

St. Ives Intensive Healing Body Lotion ($5)(Drugstores/Target)

thedaintydaisies

Again I have a travel-size product that I’ve used up. I also got this one to try out. I wanted a really moisturizing lotion for my hands and feet. This one has the word “intensive” in it’s name, so I figured it would be a good buy. However, I was actually disappointed. It didn’t seem to work better than any other regular lotion. What happened to the “intensive healing?” I was not intensively healed. I will not be repurchasing this little guy. If you know of any really moisturizing lotions, let me know!

Olay Soothing Cucumber Body Lotion ($5)(Drugstores/Target)

thedaintydaisies

Here we have yet another lotion. I guess I’m trying to convince you all that moisturize! Just like the St. Ives lotion, this product is nothing special. I enjoy the scent, but its moisturizing ability is only fair. Again I won’t be buying this lotion again. Man, I won’t be repurchasing nearly any of these products. I think if you are looking for a good smelling lotion just for the scent for a reasonable price, you should check this lotion out. Otherwise, it’s probably not right for you.

What products have you recently used up?!
